  • Alyssa Rivera, Teacher & founder of Oh Claire Improv

    Alyssa Rivera

    Originally from the D.C. suburbs, Alyssa found comedy in college as a theatre major when she attended the Second City Comedy Studies program in Chicago.

    Alyssa lived and worked as a comedian in Chicago for 10 years. In that time she graduated from the Second City Conservatory, the iO Training Center, The Annoyance Theatre and was a recipient of the Second City's Bob Curry Fellowship in 2019.

    Alyssa has had the pleasure of performing improv, stand-up and sketch all over the country and was featured in Second City's Urban Twist cast, The Chicago cast of the long running musical improv team Baby Wants Candy and has been featured in showcases for HBO, NBC and Comedy Central.

    Alyssa has been a faculty member at The Annoyance Theatre and currently teaches for The Second City improv and stand up programs online while living in the Eau Claire area. She also enjoys occasionally hopping in on shows with our friends at Clear Water Comedy!

  • JP Fry - Founder and Teacher at Oh Claire Improv

    JP Fry

    JP is an Eau Claire native with over 15 years of improv experience.

    After graduating from Memorial High School, where he was a member of the high school improv team, JP moved to Chicago to attend Columbia College as an acting major. During his time in Chicago JP performed and trained at some of the greatest improv and comedy schools in the world. JP is a graduate of The Second City Comedy Studies and Conservatory programs as well as The Annoyance Training Center.

    JP appeared on stage with Second City in Infinite Sundaes and was featured in many productions at The Annoyance Theatre including Splatter Theater, Steamworks: The Musical, and Dick Wolf Improv which he created and directed. JP is thrilled to provide a vibrant home for comedy in his hometown.

  • Annie Jackson, Oh Claire Improv Teacher

    Annie Jackson

    Annie is a La Crescent, Minnesota native and graduate of UW-Eau Claire where she graduated with a Bachelors of Music Education. She took her first improv class at Brave New Workshop while student teaching.

    Chasing the laugh, she joined as a troupe member at Stevie Ray’s in Chanhassen Dinner Theater. After graduation, she moved to Chicago where she completed training at Second City and iO. She quickly began performing in ensembles such as Riff, Comedy Sportz, and Storytown. With slight dabbling in sketch (“Bless This Mess”, Battle Ax) and coaching (New Team Smell), she has witnessed first hand the joy and freedom that come along with improvising. “If you spend more time in your head than your body, improv is a great place for you to play outside the rules.”

  • Josh Ingersoll Oh Claire Improv Teacher

    Josh Ingersoll

    Josh Ingersoll has been performing in the Eau Claire area for a couple of decades now. He came of age on the Memorial High School Improv team in the early 2000s, has a degree in English education and a minor in theater education.

    He’s taught high school English, and summer theater programs. He’s been in several locally produced films, played Michael in a stage production of God of Carnage, and was the campy songwriter and frontman of The Heart Pills. He currently plays bass for the band Pit Wagon and works as an audio tech at the Pablo Center.
